   general
   Born in Paris, Charles, count Lefebvre-Desnouettes was aide-de-camp to Napoléon Bonaparte as first consul, then equerry to Bonaparte as Emperor napoléon i, and commander of the Imperial Guard. He was made a count of the Empire and distinguished himself at Bautzen (1813), then during the campaign in France. He was one of the first to join the emperor during the hundred days and took part in the Battles of Fleurus and Waterloo. Condemned to death during the Second Restoration, he escaped to the United States. Having obtained from King louis XV III the authorization to return to France, General Lefebvre-Desnouettes was lost on the Albion, which sank off the coast of ireland.
